Q Describe and give examples of inputs, transformation processes, and outputs for the following two businesses: A doctor's office A mattress factory Follow formatting instructions posted in Course Information in Content Link (Policies and Guidelines). No late submissions! allowed for this assignment. Be sure you have watched Module 1 Instructor video, which gives you good ideas about inputs and outputs. Organization: Please have a heading that says Doctor's Office and then list (in sentence or bullet form - as long as you have a full thought, not single words) the inputs, transformation activities, and outputs. Then have a heading that says Mattress Factory and list the same three items. Helpful Tips about Identifying Transformation Activities: Most students do quite well with the inputs and outputs but have trouble identifying some of the transformation or process activities. Tip - Do not give as your answer that the transformation activities are what convert the inputs into outputs. That's too simplistic and is just the definition (you won't receive points on this part if you say that). Instead, you have to think about what some of the actual transformation activities might be for the specific business and give a list (around 4-5 examples). Again, not what the customer does, but the steps the company or organization does to turn the inputs into outputs. For the college library, think about things that are involved in a college library, when students come in physically or utilize the online services. Turn these things into transformation activities. For the hotel, what are all the services and operations that occur when a customer stays there? What does the hotel have to have by way of operations/processes to be able to serve the client? These are transformation activities. If you have any questions, write to me in the 1:1 discussion area. This assignment is only worth 10 points, but the goal is to have you begin thinking about these important building blocks of all operations at any business.

The operation management is a process by which input has been changed into the output in the form of the goods and services. The process has been called the transformation process as it has transformed the input into the output. The nature of the transformation process depends on the volume and scope of the business. In general, from the description of the operation management it seems to be a process use in the manufacturing industry.
